It was a beautiful spring day in rural Georgia; my good friend Amy Bramblett brought Hope Hilton out to the house to drink coffee lattes, eat the best gluten-free chocolate chip cookies ever, visit my studio, and walk in the woods. ‘Native Plants of Georgia, Autumn’ was recently created by Hope in collaboration with Double Dutch Press, and Amy was a font of knowledge on native plants as we walked through the woods and down by the creek, so between the two of them, I learned quite a bit! I did know about some of our friendly plants living nearby, but Amy introduced me to so many more! I can spot a wild ginger from quite a distance away, but I had NEVER seen, or even known to look for, the ‘little brown jug’ flower on the ground UNDER the wild ginger.
There really is beauty in the every day, isn’t there?
Thanks, Amy and Hope!
